Job Description:

The Senior Analyst, Manugistics is responsible for participating in the development, maintenance and enhancement of Demand and Supply applications using the Manugistics application

This requires an in-depth understanding of Networks Demand and Networks Fulfillment (supply) planning along with basic knowledge of WebConnect (Acta/Data Integrator)

Under the guidance of a Business Application Manager, this individual will collaborate with internal customers, staff members, IT colleagues, and other stakeholders to define strategies and tactics to achieve business needs. Must have strong research and analytical abilities to resolve complex system issues

Provide technical expertise within an assigned business unit/area, usually as a member of a project team, in the analysis, design and development of business applications

Provide technical consulting support on project or system issues

Collect and analyze business requirements for large, multifunctional projects. Identify conflicting business practices and integration issues, suggesting alternative solutions

Perform feasibility studies, translating requirements into an appropriate design

Works closely with technical associates to configure Networks Demand and Networks Fulfillment

Design and support interfaces to and from external systems

Maintain system performance and data integrity. Coordinates new jobs and schedule changes with job scheduling team

Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written, and designed, coded, tested, debugged, and documented programs

Lead projects or regularly coach other project personnel to ensure business application systems are developed in a way that complies with architectural standards and established methodologies and practices

Create and update required documentation

Foster and maintain good relationships with customers and IT colleagues to meet expected customer service levels

Other assigned responsibilities necessary for completion of IS mission

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Services or business-related (functional) discipline (accounting, finance, etc.), with an understanding of programming concepts

In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, an individual with business-related experience or specific Scotts experience will be considered

At least 5 to 6 years of experience in business application design, development, installation and modification in an online environment (preferably Manugistics modules Demand and Fulfillment)

Experience in the Consumer Products Industry or in a production/service environment similar to that of the client

Experience with structured design, development and implementation of new computing architecture

Experience with addressing help desk issues in areas of expertise and assisting with user problems in associated areas

Knowledge in project management techniques is required, (cross-functional experience is highly desirable)

Conceptual knowledge of information technologies and methodologies in a client server environment

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms

Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills

Good project management skills, operating as part of a team organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from vision through implementation
