Job Title: Perl Developer
Job Location: Boca Raton, FL
Job Type: 6 Plus Month Contract (likely to extend - see note below)

(Drug Test and Background Test Required)

Required Skills:
- 4 to 6 years of experience in Perl development in a web environment on Unix systems (FreeBSD or Linux)
- Strong understanding of Internet technologies including HTTP, XML, XML-RPC, REST, XSLT, JavaScript and HTML
- Strong knowledge of SQl and the ability to work with mySQL and Oracle
- Good written and verbal communications skills as well as strong interpersonal skills
- A passion for the technology tempered by a level-headed approach to problem solving
- Ability to operate within flexible hours, especially during software distribution phases
- Ability to work comfortably and efficiently in a mixed MS-Windows and Unix environment
- Development and/or System Administration experience in a hosting oriented company ideal but not required
- Demonstrated competence in programming-related security concepts and best practices
- Diagnostic/trouble shooting skills with the ability to quickly learn and understand new technical concepts

Position Responsibilities:
- Arriving no later than 9:30am and working 8 hours
- Writing code in Perl in a Unix environment
- Evaluate requirements, create a breakdown of tasks and provide task estimates
- Write detailed requirements document describing the development, design and implementation details (before coding begins)
- Navigating around a Unix environment reviewing various log files to diagnose system or customer problems
- Attending meetings related to assigned projects
- Working in a test-driven development (TDD) environment
- Positions will be working on improving internal ordering and billing systems, customer facing API's and upgrading applications to utilize Web2.0 technologies

NOTE: "There is a strong likelihood that these positions will be extended and long term. End-client wants to leave the option open of conversion to fulltime if position/budget permits. End-client will indicate by month 5 if the position will be extended/converted."

Interview Process: Phone Screen followed by face-to-face with hiring manager
