Job Title: Software Engineer - Web API Platform
Job Location: Boca Raton, FL
Job Type: 6 Plus Month Contract

(Drug test and background check required)

Required Skills:
- 4 to 6 years of experience in Perl development in a web environment on Unix systems (FreeBSD or Linux)
- 3 years experience in Java or PHP or .Net
- Strong understanding of Internet technologies including HTTP, XML, XML-RPC, REST, XSLT, JavaScript and HTML
- Experience working with the Perl Catalyst development framework
- Strong knowledge of SQL and the ability to work with mySQL and Oracle
- Good written and verbal communication skills as ewll as strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work comfortably and efficiently in a mixed MS-Windows and Unix environment
- Demonstrated competence in programming-related security concepts and best practices
- Diagnostic/trouble-shooting skills with the ability to quickly learn and understand new technical concepts

Position Responsibilities:
- Arrive at work no later than 9:30 - work 8 hours
- Writing sample in Perl, PHP, Java and .Net to use the Verio API's
- Act as a liaison for customers having API integration issues; schedule a meeting time to talk with them directly on the phone and work through their issues
- Navigating around a Unix environment reviewing various log files to diagnose system or customer problems
- Document any bugs found when working with clients and/or writing sample code
- Write tools/utilities that might aid Verio support or the customer to diagnose API integration and/or system issues
- Write new API methods to contribute to the overall API suite
