Job Title: Java/UI Developer
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 12 Plus Months

A mid level Java web developer would be ideal for this position. This role requires someone with confidence to raise issues and contribute to the technical discussion if they see a more optimal way to implement something compared to the specifications provided. This project is converting a legacy (10+ years old) web application into cutting edge technology with a revamped look and feel to it. Project should last one year or more, and is based out of our Houston, TX office.

Technical Skills
Web development using HTML/xHTML/CSS/JavaScript.
Entry or mid level of experience in developing web application using Java 5.
Experience using XML/XSD/DTD/XSLT.
Working experience in a multi tier application environment.
Strong requirement analytical skills
Java/J2EE application architecture
using SVN, ANT
Spring Framework
GWT/GXT
unit testing using Junit
PL/SQL

Soft Skills
(Communication and soft skills are VERY key here because of daily conference calls to with the client).
Clear communication skill with the ability to understand an issue and also explain an issue.
Able to speak and write in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to structure and manage their work load.
Fully understanding the development lifecycle and what it means to them in what they have to do re their role.
Is a Team Player but has the ability to work on their own when required.
Have initiative to get the results needed/ability to work around issues Commitment to do what is needed to make a project a success.
